In the name of Allah, showing sadness on Al-Hussein (PBUH) and the rest of Ahlulbait is desirable and required by sharia. Wearing black clothes in the usual ways of it, rather the most prominent of which is the embodiment of that. The one who does so for what we have mentioned deserves the reward from Allah Almighty. The privilege of grieving for the Imam Hussein (PBUH) should be highlighted for the grief of the rest of the infallible Imams, and this is achieved in the wearing of black on the months of Muharram and Safer as well as on the day of the deaths of the infallible Imams. Allah knows best.

In the name of Allah, it is not proved for me that it is disliked to dress in black. Yes, it is proved to me through the narrations that wearing black shoes is disliked. If we think of disliking of wearing black clothes, we will see that it is because the Abbasid politicians used black clothes as their logo that are enemies of Ahlulbait (PBUH). Allah knows best.

Regarding dressing in black, it seems that it is universally agreed that people dress in black when they want to show sadness. Perhaps, this tradition emerged after the fall of Banu Omayyad and Banu Al-Abbas regime; a time where the pressure on the Shiites of Ahlulbait (PBUH) decreased in general. Allah knows best.

In the name of Allah, we have mentioned in our previous answers that every act commemorating the tragedy of Al-Taf and making people remember and cry over Imam Hussein (PBUH) is required and necessary unless there is a refrainment from the public or a religious prohibition. It is recommended and liked, where man is rewarded for it if he intends to commemorate the tragedy of Hussein (PBUH) and share Ahlulbait (PBUH) their grief. Allah is the all Guide.
